DESTINY
FEBRUARY 27, 2017
PHOENIX, ARIZONA
EBWF.COM CAMERAS

PJ Black cleared his throat. He sat there, directly in front of the camera, topless. His hair, messy, but tamed as though he had just woken up. He looked into the camera.

"Last night, Fallout should have been switched with Destiny. Last night, the stars aligned and the only real truth in this company came true."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

He looked down to his lap, his eyes gleamed with joy as he lifted up in his hands the EBWF World Championship.

"My destiny. The thing that I worked years for. The championship that had eluded me my entire career. It all became... Mine."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

He closed his eyes. A dream he thought, this all must have been a dream. Realization set in as he held the leathery texture of the strap. The weight was unlike any other championship he's held. Everything from the Tag-Team Championships to the EBWF Path to Glory Championship. None of them felt anything like this.

"Everyone that doubted me. Everyone that said I wouldn't make it. Everyone that said I was scared. All of you can go straight to the cold hell that you said would happen when this day came. I'm the new EBWF World Champion and there ain't a damn thing any of you can do about it."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

He adjusted the belt in his hands and moved the championship up to his right shoulder. He fit it on his shoulder and gave it a quick pat. Black then reached down in front of him again and brought up the EBWF Path to Glory Championship, the belt he didn't need to cash in. He placed the championship on his left shoulder before he looked back and forth between the two championships.

"This right here, this is the proof. This is having control of my destiny. I didn't need to cash my Path to Glory Championship to accomplish greatness. You all thought that I was stupid holding onto the Path to Glory title. You thought that I was afraid of failure. Afraid I would never be World Champion."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

He paused and shook his head in disbelief of all the superstars that thought this. A smug smirk grew on his face.

"However, they all thought wrong. They thought wrong because I'm the mother fucking "Darewolf". I don't fear a damn thing and now. Now I hold the destiny of EBWF in my hands as not only the EBWF Path to Glory Champion, but as the EBWF World Champion as well. I hold the entire future of EBWF right here."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black shrugged his shoulders to make the two title belts pop.

"If you thought that 2016 was something. Just wait for what I have in store for 2017, as the World Champion."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black sat there with both championships for a few seconds longer before the video feed ended.

Jamie held her phone in her hands as she sat on the black leather couch. She was inside the locker room that she shared, off script, with her boyfriend, Paul. Her nails clicked against the screen as she ran through and checked her social media sites to stay current with the EBWF Universe. She crossed her legs and let out a sigh as she sat, seemingly waiting.

The door swung open. Jamie's eyes rose from her phone and saw Paul walk through the doorway. He shook his head as he walked into the locker room. The door closed behind him as he walked over to the couch. He fell onto the couch next to Jamie.

"So? What did they want?"
.theknockout//JAMIE_SZANTYR

Her anxious voice exemplified the importance of where Paul had gone. He shook his head before he turned to answer her question.

"They want me to drop the PTG title tonight."
.darewolf//PAUL_LLOYD_JR
"What? Tonight's suppose to be about you celebrating. Why would they ask you to do this tonight?"
.theknockout//JAMIE_SZANTYR
"I don't know."
.darewolf//PAUL_LLOYD_JR

He paused. Jamie noticed he wasn't finished so she refrained from interrupting him.

"They really didn't tell me much, just that they have plans for it come Mania. And since I'm already facing Joe at Mania, they want me to drop it so they can go forward with their plans."
.darewolf//PAUL_LLOYD_JR
"But your streak..."
.theknockout//JAMIE_SZANTYR
"Ends tonight."
.darewolf//PAUL_LLOYD_JR

He sat there and looked at Jamie. She stared back, upset for him, but they both knew, this is the nature of the business. They both chose this lifestyle, knowing that things could change quickly on a whim.

TRAVELING TO DENVER, COLORADO

The light shined as the Sun could be seen rising on the horizons. The roar of the jet engines seemed like a small hum behind the music. Paul heard the music, Tech N9ne, a constant on his playlist. Every time the music played, he paid attention. Except now. He continued to listen though his mind had already left the moment. Jamie rested beside him, he could feel the warmth from her body.

The plane was packed, nearly every seat in the Boeing 747 was filled. The warm smell of everyone mingled together. The occasional cough was heard a few rows ahead. A gentleman excused himself as he made his way to the back of the plane. Paul watched all this that went on in front of him. His eyes watched. His mind however could not connect.

WrestleMania. This was it. Everything that I have worked for. Everything that I have been through. Everything that I've overcome. All of it, was for this moment. This very moment.

His mind raced for miles, but inevitably it always returned to WrestleMania.

Dad, you would be proud of me. This is what we worked for. All the training when I was teenager. All the weekends wrestling underage, failing to do my homework in school. All of it built the foundation that has made me the man that I am in that ring. I wouldn't be as strong as I am right now if it wasn't for all the hard lessons that I learned from you. I wish that you could see me now. I wish you could see me as a World Champion.

His eyes closed as he leaned his head back against the headrest. He took a deep breath.

I wish you were still alive to see the wrestler that I have evolved into. But I know now. I know that I was not meant to stay in South Africa, and if I hadn't lost you father. If you hadn't gotten shot right in front of me, I wouldn't be here tonight. I would be with you, running our family's promotion in South Africa. I'd be known. I'd be a star. But only in Africa. As hard as it was to go through father. A much as I lost myself and ran away. All of it has come full circle now and has made me who I am. It has made me a man that you could be proud of.

Proud?

That word. It was always followed by a question mark when he would think about his father.

I didn't know it back then. I didn't know that you were only trying to make me a better man. When I wanted to drop out of school to learn the business full time. You always told me no. You told me to finish school. You knew that if I dropped out, I would be stuck. I wouldn't be able to travel the world. I wouldn't be on the roster of the most cutting edge wrestling company to date. I wouldn't be World Champion.

The EBWF World Championship. A championship that holds high acclaim from everyone in the wrestling business. It wasn't just a strap with a few gold plates on it. It meant something. It meant everything.

If it wasn't for you dad.. I wouldn't be on my very own "Road to WrestleMania", no. I wouldn't be EBWF World Champion. I wouldn't have everything I have. I wouldn't have been able to do any of the things that I have done. I wouldn't be... Me.

He stared out the window. He was on it. He was on his own WrestleMania course. He knew that everything he had done. Everything that has molded him into who he was. What he was. It was all for the betterment of himself. It was all for this. And there was only one thing to say.

"Thank you."
.darewolf//PAUL_LLOYD_JR

He spoke under his breath as he continued to mindlessly watch the actions of the flight.

JOE
MARCH 13, 2017
DENVER, COLORADO
EBWF.COM CAMERAS

PJ Black blasted into the scene as the camera booted up. He brought his arm across a set of equipment boxes and hurled them to the ground. Sweaty from his main event match with Alex Riley. A match that Black had in solid control until Samoa Joe stormed the ring. Joe continued to attack Black until he was left in a heap in the middle of the ring.

The medical staff tried to help Black backstage, only to be pushed away. He didn't want help, he wanted revenge. He wanted Joe.

"JOE!!!"
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black screamed out as the EBWF medical staff converged on him again.

"Get off me!! Get me Joe!"
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black turned around and noticed the camera watching his rampage. He turned toward the camera and with the medical personnel in the background.

"Joe. JOE!! I know that you're going to see this. I know that you think that you have the upper hand. But you don't. Do you hear me Joe!!"
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black wiped the hair out of his eyes and pushed away the trainer once again.

"Joe, tonight... Tonight you made this personal. You talk a lot of trash, and I mean a lot of trash to everyone in this company. You think that you're a destroyer. You think that you short run here in EBWF is going to be topped off with beating me at Mania. Is that it Joe? Is that the delusion that is going through the peanut size brain of yours? Did some coconuts fall on your head when you drifted to the states from Samoa?"
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black tapped on his head in response to his comments.

"When you first showed up Joe, I was out on the shelf. I wasn't hear to make it clear just who I am. I'm PJ Black, nice to meet you. I'm the man that for over the last year, has been running through every single man this company could throw my way. I the man that fought his way to the top through hell, fire, and brimstone.

You Joe. You think that you're something, don't you. You think that your little Royal Rumble victory was anything to be proud of. You think the fact that you can throw me over the top rope instantly makes you better than me. You think throwing me over the top rope means that you can beat me?"
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black stood up straight, cringing in obvious pain. He outstretched his arms and looked into the camera.

"If you thought you could beat me Joe, then why did you cheap shot me out there tonight? If you thought that you were better, why did you just take the route of a sniveling, low-life, complete waste of space coward?

You just forgot to finish the job out there Joe. You call yourself a destroyer. If you think that was going to destroy me. You're as dumb as you are worthless."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

The medical trainer leaned in to try to talk to PJ once again. Black pushed him to the side and looked into the camera.

"I'm coming for you Joe.

You came out there tonight and started this. I'm going to finish it."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

The referees got Black's attention and motioned him off camera. A last barely audible, "GET OFF ME!!" was heard as the camera cut out.

PIPE DREAM
MARCH 20, 2017
DETROIT, MICHIGAN
EBWF.COM CAMERAS

The camera feed begun to play inside the parking garage. The camera was set up to get pictures and video of the EBWF Superstars as they arrived to the Joe Louis Arena for their last time. A lot of emotions were talked about with the cameraman about debuts, retirements, and 5-star matches at The Joe.

The camera waited for the next person to arrive. However, the wait wasn't long as a black sedan rolled into the parking lot. The car slammed on their breaks and instantly shifted into park. The driver's side door opened and out came the EBWF World Champion, PJ Black. He looked around as he exited the car. He then reached back into the car and pulled out from the passenger's side a lead pipe. He held it up in front of him. He lowered the pipe as he stepped back away from the door. Black slammed the door shut. He walked around the side of the care as the camera moved in on Black. He looked up, lead pipe in hand at the camera.

"Good, this will make things easier."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black stopped in front of the camera.

"Joe, last week, you thought that you got the best of me. In reality, you just pissed me off. Tonight, things have changed.

Tonight, I brought a friend."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

He brought the lead pipe up into the frame. He waved it side to side.

"As you can see, it's not Heath Slater.

Joe, I hope that you're watching this because I have something to say to you. I'm looking for you. Sometime tonight, I'm going to find you. Whether it's in the back, out in that ring, where ever. I'm going to find you. I'm going to pull you out of where ever it is you're hiding and I'm going to beat the living hell out of you.

You thought that your attack last week was going to scare me off. You thought that I was going to go cower in the corner and lick my wounds. Well, I'm sorry, but I'm not that kind of wolf.

Joe. Many people have stood in your shoes this last year. All of them thought that I was something that could be overlooked. You, instead of overlooking me, you think your little scare tactics are going to work because hey, everyone that you've faced before me, it's worked on. But see Joe, I'm a man with no fear. Beat me down. Scream at me. Tell me that you're going to destroy me. It means nothing. It's all just words. When you stand off against me one on one Joe, you have no chance. I'm not cocky, it's an ice cold fact. I'm the never say die, fight til my last breath, throw caution to the wind kind of guy."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black brandished the pipe again as he spoke with his body as much as his mouth. He pointed the pipe in the direction of the arena.

"Out in that ring, I may lose. I may get beat. Any other day of the week, I could fail. But not Sunday nights. Not when it counts.

Everyone knows it Joe. They all love to deny it, but deep down, they all know it.

When it's all on the line. When it really and truly counts. In that ring. I am a God."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

PJ brought the pipe in rather quickly as he pounded it into his chest.

"Samoa Joe.

Last week, you felt what it was like to beat me down. You felt what it was like to make me fail. Enjoy it.

At WrestleMania, when I defend the EBWF World Championship against you in my first ever title defense. All I have will be on the line. Everything that I have worked for, will be on the line. All the blood, sweat, and tears that I have poured to get to where I am. All of that, is on the line.

Do you think for one second I'm going to lose?"
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black looked at the camera.

"Joe... Everyone is talking about how I'm going to be in the fight of my life at WrestleMania. They fail to realize that you too, are going to be in the fight of your life at Mania Joe.

So I ask you Joe. Are you ready?

I'm coming for you."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black nudged the camera with the lead pipe and pushed himself past.

THE ROAD
MARCH 22, 2017
TRAVELING TO ORLANDO, FLORIDA
NO CAMERA

It was a short drive to Orlando from Daytona Beach. Short, but it allowed Paul's mind to wonder. Jamie sat in the passenger seat. She was excited for this trip. She loved WrestleMania season more than any other season in the business. The events, the fans, the lights. She was caught up in it all.

Paul, he felt differently. Normally he was right there with Jamie. Excited. Ready to take on WrestleMania week head on. This year however, was different.

Look at her. She thinks this year is just like any other WrestleMania that we've attended. She thinks everything is the same. She's wrong.

This year is different. Everything is different. I'm EBWF World Champion. I'm defending the title in the main event slot at WrestleMania. I have never dreamed that I would be here. I never thought that I would be driving to main event, WrestleMania.

Oh yeah, I'm driving.

His mind wondered but he quickly returned to reality. Jamie wouldn't be happy if before the biggest Pay Per View of them all, we got into a wreck. That would ruin a lot of plans.

I need to pay attention. The company would fire me on the spot if I called to tell them that two of their stars on the Mania card were in an accident and couldn't make it to the show. That would be career suicide. Not just for me, but for her.

Paul looked over at Jamie. She didn't notice his gaze as she stared out at the morning sunlight. His heart whelmed inside his chest.

I couldn't ask for anyone better to have by my side through all this. All the trouble that I've had getting over in EBWF. All the long nights. She's stood by me through it all. And here we are together, after all these years.

The top of the EBWF Mountain. The pinnacle of the wrestling world, and we were at the the helm. Together.

He smiled as he eyes returned to the road. The traffic was still light this early in the morning. Paul was relaxed, which was a good thing. With the week that lays ahead, he need to take advantage of all these relaxed moments.

Just think of it, this time last year I was defending the Path to Glory Championship against CM Punk. We tore the roof down in the co-main event of the night. We went on right before Jericho and Ikeda.

That night, I was on cloud nine. It is the best moment of my career, up until now that is.

I'm days away from going into WrestleMania. Defending the EBWF World Championship. In the main event.

Main. Event.

The words echoed in his head. He knew that it was real. He had the title belt in the back seat on top of his bag. He could literally see it. However, he still could not wrap his head around it. He still could not believe that he was World Champion.

It seems like a life time ago I first enter a wrestling ring. I remember lying away at night, looking up at the stars and wishing. Dreaming of becoming a World Champion.

Years I trained. Years I sacrificed everything to drive to this town. Drive to that town. Up and down the highways. Wrestling for 100 bucks here, a hot and a warms room to sleep. I took whatever payment was offered, just to step inside the ring and show everyone what I could do. I lied about my age just to be able to compete.

I was born and bred for this business. That is why I'm here. That's why I'm driving to WrestleMania. That's why I'm driving to my moment. I was born for moments like this. I was bred to be in the main event. And now that I'm here, I'm not moving aside for anyone.

He shook his head to the voice in his head. He believed it. She believed it. No one else believed it. But that didn't matter.

He looked over at Jamie. She smiled back this time. He couldn't help but to gleam back a smile of his own.

I don't know how I'll ever repay you back. All the times that you've stood beside me. With all the bumps along the way, this road that we call life has looked more like a motocross rhythm section than a road. But through it all, you were there.

You gave me the fire to keep going. Every time that I wanted to quit. Every time that I wanted to throw in the towel. You were there. You brought back down to Earth and you told me that I needed to fight on. Sooner or later, I would become EBWF World Champion. You told me that.

You had faith in me and believe in me when no one else would. You knew that if I tucked my head down, worked hard, and just go out there and do what I do. I would make it. I would achieve all of my dreams.

Black reached hand over and placed it on her thigh. She placed her hand on top of his as she turned back to the window.

I can't just thank you for everything that you've done. That would never be enough. I just knew that without you, I wouldn't be where I am.

He smiled as his eyes turned back towards the road. He continued to drive, the road open in front of them. WrestleMania was the next stop. Orlando bound.

BREAKFAST WITH CHAMPIONS
MARCH 23, 2017
ORLANDO, FLORIDA
EBWF.COM CAMERAS

It was early. The Sun had just risen, but you wouldn't have been able to tell that at the Waldorf Astoria. The caterers were running in and out the back doors. Lines and lines of people crowded the front of the Ballroom. Breakfast wasn't even close to being finished, but that didn't stop the press, or the EBWF Universe.

Certain members of the EBWF locker room volunteered to help out with the event. One of which has been a staple in the Breakfast With Champions WrestleMania event for a few years. Nearly every year that he was with EBWF, PJ Black attended the breakfast.

Black took a break as he stood next to Renee Young, EBWF's interviewer that had been assigned to the event for the past couple of years.

The cameras came to live as Renee raised the microphone up to her lips.

"PJ, the decoration are looking amazing. I bet the kids are going to love it."
.unfiltered//RENEE_YOUNG
"Thank you Renee. Out of all the events that go on with WrestleMania and Fanniversary week, I think Breakfast With Champions has been one event that really makes you feel like you've done something in this business. These kids, they're going through hardships and pain every other day in the year. But here, we take all that away and the looks in these kid's eyes. Nothing else makes you feel the way you do."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Uncharacteristically of PJ Black, a genuine smile emerged on his face.

"Last year, you attended this event as the Path to Glory Champion. This year, you're the EBWF World Champion. Does that make this event any different for you?"
.unfiltered//RENEE_YOUNG
"You know Renee, every time I'm privileged enough to be here as a champion, I try to make it better than before. Each year, I want to encourage more and more kids to not give up. To have no fear. I want these kids to feel the rush that I feel when I'm jumping out of a plane or jumping off the top rope doing the 450. But this year, as the World Champion, I feel like I have the opportunity to inspire more kids."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black looked around the ballroom.

"All of this Renee, we don't do it for us. We do it for the kids. If we wanted to do this for us, Wes Ikeda could through a state wide party every weekend in Michigan. We do it all for the fans. You could be 86 and remember fondly where you were when Bruno Sammartino beat "Nature Boy" Buddy Rodgers in 48 seconds. You could be a young kid who's just now getting to stay up late enough to experience EBWF with their parents. The bright lights and flashing strobes mesmerizing all your brain functions."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"Not Breakfast With Champions though."
.unfiltered//RENEE_YOUNG
"No no, this is the event that EBWF and Make-A-Wish get together and all of us champions, we get to interact with all these kids on deeper and more personal level. Each year we all walk around and we hang out, we laugh, we get giant stacks of pancakes. It's loads of fun, and every year I try to make sure I'm some kinda of champion, just so I can hang out with all these great kids."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black brushed some loose hairs out of his face that pulled away from his ponytail. He wasn't dressed for the event yet. He had some more time to go and get ready after everything was set up.

"It's a great thing EBWF and Make-A-Wish do with this event, and it is brought around here, during WrestleMania week. Which speaking of WrestleMania..."
.unfiltered//RENEE_YOUNG
"Renee..."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"I know, I told you no WrestleMania talk, but PJ. This is the time. WrestleMania is literally on the horizon and here you are. In the main event."
.unfiltered//RENEE_YOUNG
"Renee, WrestleMania is Sunday. Joe, I'm taking care of him on Sunday. Today, it's not about what's going to happen on Sunday. Today is about all these kids."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"You can't just tell me one thing about how you're feeling going into this match?"
.unfiltered//RENEE_YOUNG

Black smiled as Renee pleaded with him.

"Come on PJ. The main event at WrestleMania. The EBWF World Championship."
.unfiltered//RENEE_YOUNG
"Renee, I've been to WrestleMania before. I've wrestled all over the WrestleMania card, but never. Never have I ever been in the main event. There's guys that come into this business that has that dream. To main event WrestleMania. They come here, they try and they try. The get close, but when the dust settles and it's all said and done, they come up short. They never make their dream become a reality. Some of them give up. Some of them grow to old. But this Sunday. This Sunday I go out there in front of the thousands and thousands of screaming fans, and I make that dream. I make my dream, a reality."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black couldn't help but to get roped into talking about WrestleMania. That is what made Renee the reporter that got all the information first. She dug.

"Samoa Joe, he thinks that this is going to be his moment. He thinks that in his short time in this company that he's deserving of this moment. Joe thinks that everything should be handed to him on a silver platter, but hey. Sorry to burst your bubble there buddy, but WrestleMania moments don't just grow on trees. I can't walk over to the nearest Orange Orchard here in Florida and pluck one off a branch. No, around here, you have to earn all the WrestleMania moments you get. I've had a few great ones, but none of them come close to the moment I'm going to have this Sunday. I'm going to prove that Fallout wasn't a fluke. I'm going to prove that I'm not a transitional champion."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

He shook his head. He didn't want to get this riled up this close to the Breakfast With Champions, but this was WrestleMania. Passion in the air all over Orlando.

"So Renee, you wanted what all this means for me. The main event spot. The World Championship. You want to know how well I'm taking all this in. Well listen Renee. All this, I've done before. Breakfast With Champions, Corporate Mixers, the signings, Dinner With The Divas. I've felt the rush that it all brings. I've felt the energy that comes with it. But never, not until this year. Have I have felt the things that I am feeling. I skydive. I base jump. I live on the edge where my heart is racing 24/7. None of that matches what I am feeling going into WrestleMania. WrestleMania 16 is, and will be the best and most defining moment in my entire career. Nothing I do from here on out, will ever match this. That Renee, that's the passion I'm feeling right now. That's the passion that I'm going to into WrestleMania with on Sunday. That's the passion that Samoa Joe is going to have to contend with."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

That passion, could be seen on PJ's face as he spoke about this years WrestleMania. Feeling himself getting carried away, PJ took a deep breath and changed the direction of the interview.

"However Renee, now that you got that little scoop. It's almost nine. There's going to hundreds of starving kids who want some Peanut Butter Pancakes with Chocolate Syrup. I gotta go get ready."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Renee smiled and the two shared a chuckle before Renee gave him a nod and PJ Black walked way. He headed towards the back staging area so that he could get ready for Breakfast With Champions.

DOUBT
MARCH 23, 2017
ORLANDO, FLORIDA

Camping World Stadium.

Sunday night, this place will be the center of the World. Members of the EBWF Universe from all over would converge on Orlando for one night. One night that stood out above all the other nights. The lights will be bright. The fireworks will be spectacular. The screams in the arena will be thunderous. For one night, this entire stadium will be filled to the rafters.

Today however, Paul sat in the stadium alone. Alone except for the workers that worked hard to construct the WrestleMania stage. Paul watched them in anticipation. He didn't know what the stage was going to look like. No one did. No one except for Wes Ikeda and the construction foreman. That was the excitement behind WrestleMania. It was the biggest show for the EBWF Universe, filled with surprises. But even the EBWF Superstars were kept in the dark about certain things.

Looks like it's going to be bigger this year.

Who am I kidding, it's bigger every year. Here soon the stage is going to take up the entire arena and we'll be wrestling in the parking lot.

He joked with himself. He tired to take the moment lightly, but it was WrestleMania. There was nothing light about that.

It doesn't matter how big it gets. The stage will never be bigger than the night itself. This is WrestleMania. And again, here I am.

Last year, I thought that I was as close to the main event as I was ever going to get at WrestleMania. When Punk and I went out there, we left it all out there in that ring. It's the nature of WrestleMania. This is the night you go bigger and harder than you ever have before. You try to out do yourself from the previous year.

The match hasn't even started yet and I've already done that. I surpassed where I was last year. I'm not on the outside of the main event looking in. I'm in the main even this year.

He let that soak in for a bit. The main event.

Who am I kidding? Do I belong in this main event. A lot of people don't think so. They think that I should have lost Fallout. Alex Riley. Cesaro. Either of these men, could they do a better job? No.

No, this was WrestleMania. This wasn't the night to think how someone else could handle themselves in the situation that I'm in.

I earned this spot. I did. I ran through everyone in 2016. I made it my year. I did that because this is what I wanted. I wanted the spotlight. I wanted to be here. I wanted this WrestleMania moment. And now that I have it, I'm doubting myself?

His confusion would have been seen on his face if there was anyone around. But there wasn't. Paul sat there, alone.

This is something that I always do. No matter what I have accomplished, I'm just like everyone that I face off against. I doubt myself. Especially now with this being WrestleMania. Was I ready to take on the task? Was I ready to be in the spotlight? Was I ready for Samoa Joe?

I have to admit, Joe is an intimidating figure. He's got everything that people think of a wrestler to have. He's got the power. He's got the skills. He's tactical, maniacal, ruthless, hungry... Anything that you could list of, Joe had it. He was built to be a champion.]

I was build for...

The clanking of the metal was heard as the crane lifted a beam up to the awaiting construction workers. The lead the beam into place with a loud scraping sound.

Here I am, just days away from the biggest moment of my career and I can't seem to keep my mind on the positives of this. I'm the champion.

After a year full of people saying I wouldn't do it. People saying I was scared to cash in the Path to Glory Championship because I was scared I would fail. A year of doubt. Match after match. Pay Per View after Pay Per View. More and more people saying it. Did it make it true?

No. Nothing they said was true. Here I am. Days away from the biggest stage of them all and I am the thing that they all said I was too weak to be. A World Champion. I didn't do it the way everyone else in this company seems to want to. I didn't force myself. I didn't sell out. I didn't even cry about not getting shots.

I sat back. I waited. I went out night after night and I put on one hell of a match after one hell of a match. I built myself up. I went out there and I showed everyone just who I was and just how talented I was. I showed them that I could hang with legends. I showed them that I could keep up with the new talents. I made myself the enterprise that I was in this moment.

Paul came out of the trance that he was in as he phone lit up and begun to ring. He looked down at the phone on his lap. Jamie. She was calling to check if he was alright. He had told her that he was going for a walk. Which he was until he found himself outside the stadium.

What time is it?

He checked his watch. Where did the time go. He should have been back at the hotel to get ready for the Mixer. It wasn't his scene, but him and Jamie, they were part of EBWF more than they knew. They needed to be there.

Paul lifted the phone, instantly apologizing as he jumped out of his seat and raced out of the stands.

SHOOT
MARCH 24, 2017
ORLANDO, FLORIDA
EBWF CAMERAS

PJ walked around the convention center. The set up was normal, but way different. This was WrestleMania after all and everyone know that everything had to be perfect for WrestleMania. That is why EBWF designed this area. Not only to allow the Superstar to get everything from their work to the promos down on point. Black watched as some of the talent worked the arena.

PJ stood there, next to a wooden stool. Oddly placed, but they put it there for a reason. They wanted someone to use this plan stood. Black shrugged his shoulders as he sat down on the stool. He looked forward and saw the camera. He thought for a second before he got up and walked over to the camera.

He pressed a few buttons and then he walked over to the stool and sat down again on the stool. Instantly without thinking, PJ started to talk.

"Well, I wasn't planning on doing this, so I don't have anything prepared. Heck I don't even have the championship with me."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

He held his hands up and shrugged.

"Listen, there's a lot of things that I need to get off my chest and quite frankly, I'm done with this all.

Samoa Joe, this thing between us. I don't know what it is. I don't know if it's hate or if it's just that you're a complete piece of shit. You walk around this place thinking that you're the shit. You think that everyone is suppose to bow down to you. You think that everything that you've done in the past, in past promotions is anything that can hold meaning here in EBWF.

Joe, I know you're good. The EBWF Universe, they know that you're good. No one has ever doubted that about you, but here you come and you think that people are disrespecting you because they're making you work.

You've been here for a few months Joe. You haven't earned the spots in this company that you've earned all over the World. You're going to, I know you will. I don't doubt that one bit. But the moment that you think that you can get over in this company at my expense, just because you think I'm nothing."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black adjusted on the stool.

"Don't try to hide it Joe. I've heard everything that you've said since you walked into this company. I've heard what you said about winning the Royal Rumble. You spoke the truth. You did win the rumble. I mean you did come in at number 30 and you really didn't "dominate" the rumble like you want to imagine. Specially when the concept of the match is who can throw who over the top rope.

But to you, that's an accomplishment. I mean, that's what you're going around telling the World about me and you. We face off once in our careers. In the Royal Rumble Match.

Do you see where I'm going with this Joe? I mean is it getting into that thick skull of yours. You claim that you're better than me because you threw me over the top rope. Let me slow that down...

You. Threw. Me. Over. A. Rope."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black pointed with each word he spoke.

"Unless this is fucking jump rope, the fucking ropes have nothing to do with anything in the wrestling business.

So the moment when real relevance is measured by how many times we throw people over the top rope, I've give you a call and I'll man up and say that you're better me. But until then Joe. If you want to really say that you're better than me. Prove it.

Shut that big as mouth of yours. Come out at WrestleMania and come at me. Come at me like you think that you're better than me. I have faced countless of your buddies that you think are better than me. Sami Zayn. I beat him. CM Punk. You bet your ass I beat him too."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black shook his head. He knew he was being repetitive, but so has everyone he has faced.

"See Joe, this little shit you're spewing at the mouth. I've heard it all before. I'm nothing. I'm boring. I'm worthless. I don't belong here. I don't deserve to be a champion. Everyone is better than me. Stop me if you heard all these before."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black paused, this was it. He had so much more to say, but he just had to put it all together.

"Listen, I'm going to be real with your right here and now. I might have said this before, and hell I'll probably say it again.

If you really think that I'm nothing. If you really think that I don't belong here. THEN FUCKING BEAT ME.

Talk all you want. Say everything that everyone else says. Walk around here and pretend that I don't exist. Pretend that you can go around here having your dream matches with your friends and no one real is going to step in the way and throw everything out the fucking window. Every time you, every time every single one of you doubt me, I show up. I step out of God knows where and I lay you out on that mat and I walk away victorious.

Ask them all Joe because this has been going on for years.

"Oh, I'm going against PJ Black. Fuck, that dude is fucking boring."

You think that gets to me anymore. You think that I come out and do what I do because I get my joys proving people wrong? If that was the case then I'd be hornier than preteen discovering porn for the first time.

Joe, I'm the dominate force in EBWF because I know I can beat anyone that is put in front of me. Whether it's you, AJ Styles, Sami Zayn... Hell, pull Crowe back out of obscurity and I'll beat his ass too. Why?

Because I can."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

He tilted his head as he looked into the camera.

"Wait, let me get my phone."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone.

"Hold on a second... Let me just..

I'll post this on Twitter real quick... Wait.. I got to throw in a couple mistakes first."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

He looked up from his phone with a confused look.

"What? I thought that was the only way that people paid attention to me. It's not? Are you sure?

I mean I do still work here. I'm just trying make myself noticed. It worked the last time didn't it? I mean Twitter blew up the last time that I made a mistake."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black shrugged it off and put the phone back into his pocket.

"Alright Joe, let get serious here for a bit because all jokes aside, I respect you. I've seen what you've done in this business and honestly, you were a dream fight for me. I thought that me and you, we'd put on a great match. Two performers going out there and letting it all out and just making it a match that the wrestling community would be talking about for years.

That was until you tried to call everything that I've done out. Well, you didn't really call me out on it, you just kinda didn't acknowledge anything that I have done. Which, it kinda rubs me the wrong way.

See Joe, I don't know who has gotten into your ear and has told you things. Maybe they told you things that you thought were, I don't know. But whatever they said Joe, let me tell you the truth.

I'm PJ Black. I don't hide. I don't back down. You've got a problem with me, find the locker room with the star that has my name on it. Drop me a line and we can figure all this out because this between me and you Joe. This WrestleMania, we could have made it the best damn main event the EBWF Universe has ever witness. We could have, but not now. Now, I'm already tired of this shit and our match hasn't even taken place yet.

Personally, you don't have to like me. I don't expect everyone to. Hell, I'd put my life savings on Wes Ikeda hating my guts. Since I started in this company, Wes never came up to and welcomed me to the fed. He never walked up and shook my hand. But did that stop me? It might have made things harder, but look where I'm at. Eventually, Wes woke up and he saw just what he'd been signing my checks for.

We still don't talk. When we pass each other in the halls, we don't turn our attention. I'm not going to text Wes up and invite him to a party. Wes and I, we have never, we still don't, and I don't know if we ever will see eye to eye on a lot of things, specially things involving this company. But Wes has seen what I have been saying since I returned to EBWF. I'm the best damn thing there is in wrestling today. I show up, I get the job done, and I move on to the next object in my path. Wes knows that now, but does he like me? Doubtful.

But I like think that I have finally earned a little respect from him."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

He paused again, this time a little long than previously.

"Something that it looks like I obvious don't have you. It's obvious that I don't have that from a lot of people in the locker room.

But unlike you Joe. Unlike Styles. I don't give a damn what is said about me inside that locker room. I don't know what I did to the locker room, but for some reason, they don't like me. I don't know if it's because I go hard. I don't know if it's just that they can't handle someone being real with them. Maybe it's just the fact that I don't lie down on the ground and let them walk all over me and use me.

I'm not going to sit back and let someone steal what is rightfully mine. Everything that I have done in this company, I've done it because I am the best. I didn't suck up and cry until I got what I wanted. I didn't sweet talk people and try weasel my way into something that I didn't earn.

I'm here in the main event of WrestleMania because I am the BEST. I'm the best not because I come out and say that I'm the "G.O.A.T" or I'm "Phenomenal". I don't come out and brag about everything I do. I just come out here every single time, and I prove that I'm the best. I prove it by beating down every single SOB that steps up to me.

They all say that they're the one that's going to beat me. They're the one that is going to make me eat my words. They're the ones that going to take my boring ass and get me to leave the company."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black looked back over his shoulder and down his back.

"Well it looks to me like my ass is still back there. Still looking as tight and sexy as ever in my wrestling tights.

That's not me saying that. Women have been saying that since... Only God knows when.

But not to drift off topic. Samoa Joe. You want to over look me. You want to go hard and think that you're going to walk all over me in this match. You think that you've done everything it takes to beat me.

That just shows that you should pay more attention to what I've been doing around here. Think whatever you like. Try as hard as you can. I will prove at WrestleMania Joe. You will never... Beat... Me."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black stood up from the plain, boring stool and he walked over to the camera. He pressed a few buttons and turned the camera off.

HAND CRAMP
MARCH 25, 2017
ORLANDO, FLORIDA
EBWF.COM CAMERAS

It was nearly six at night, the signings were suppose to have ended some time ago, but the EBWF Universe all came out for WrestleMania 16. All the groups were through, the final group and the all day group were rapping up as the EBWF.com camera crew walked around the convention room to see the carnage of the final autograph signings for WrestleMania Weekend.

PJ Black stacked together what little amount of promo shots he had left into one pile. The Universe loved to boo him on television, but you would not have known that with how long his lined remained this year. He flexed his fingers as the camera crew approached.

"Hand cramp?"
.ebwf.com/CAMERAMAN
"Yeah.. I don't think I've ever signed my name this many times in a day. It's crazy."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black looked up to interact with the cameraman.

"I bet it's been crazy all week for you."
.ebwf.com/CAMERAMAN
"It wouldn't be WrestleMania without a little be of crazy."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"Yeah, but this year you're the World Champion."
.ebwf.com/CAMERAMAN
"Hey, every year I'm some kind of champion. Last year, it was the PTG. This year, I'm the World Champion. Am I proud? You bet I am. I have worked for over 20 years doing this professionally. I started when I was young and I stuck with it. I mean sure I got lost along the way and took some breaks, but every time... Every time I tried to leave this business behind, it pulled be back in. Now, this is my life and it wouldn't have ever been complete without capturing the EBWF World Championship at least once, you know."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"You're the champion now, but can you be sure of that after Mania?"
.ebwf.com/CAMERAMAN

PJ laughed as he picked up his photos and put them in a bag.

"Let me guess. You're on the Joe bandwagon too, huh?"
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"He is Samoa Joe."
.ebwf.com/CAMERAMAN
"Yeah, well I'm PJ Black. It's just a name kid. Samoa Joe, so what. He's just another cocky SOB that I'm going to have to knock down a few pegs. Heck, I'll beat him down the way that I did Sami Zayn and the two of them can sit back and watch re-runs of when they were something in this business."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"Are you sure you want say all this about Joe? He's already got that attack to fuel his fire against you."
.ebwf.com/CAMERAMAN
"That attack? Do you think that was an attack? Joe is dreaming if he really thinks that's all that I can."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black shook his head.

"I "attacked" Joe last Monday not to hurt him. I did it to prove to him that I'm not afraid. See, Joe thinks that he's a tough guy because he tends to strike fear in his opponents. He thinks that he can play little mind games and same some tough words and it's going to make me run for the hills. But I'm not like everyone that Joe has faced in the past. This destroyer he claims to be. The only thing recently that Samoa Joe has destroyed is the toilet in his hotel room."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black smirked as he stood up from his chair.

"I take it then you don't have much of an opinion on what Joe has said about you in recent weeks, and even weeks leading up to the Royal Rumble."
.ebwf.com/CAMERAMAN
"You know, to be honest, I've stopped listening to all my opponents. No really. Instead, I get on YouTube and I search up some of the first people I started facing when I came back into EBWF. You know, back when all the things that everyone says was fresh and unused. No, I'm being serious here. Samoa Joe, you're suppose to be something different in this company. Something fresh right? But bro, there's nothing fresh on you. Everything that you are saying, it's coming out of your mouth with more STANK than AJ Style's crotch when shows up to work after hitting up the afternoon girls at the local strip club. I urge you... No I beg you Joe, step out of the shadow of countless men before. Get your own material. Think for yourself. Then, grab a microphone and see if you've been around here long enough to be relevant first. Then maybe at SummerSlam or Fanniversary, you can try to step back up to the plate and be worthy enough to beat me. Until then Joe, you're going to be sorely mistaken if you think that you are going to walk out of WrestleMania tomorrow night the EBWF World Champion."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"Well PJ, I'm not going to hold you up any longer. I know that you have the Slammy Awards to get to tonight."
.ebwf.com/CAMERAMAN
"Superstar of the Year right here, remember that."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

The cameraman could be heard laughing as PJ Black picked up all his belongings. The camera cut off just as he turned to leave.

ONE LAST THING
MARCH 26,2017
ORLANDO, FLORIDA
WRESTLEMANIA PRE-SHOW CAMERAS

The crowd filled the arena as the EBWF WrestleMania Pre-Show continued on until the camera feed cut out. Slowly the backstage scene came into view. PJ Black stood prominent in the middle of the camera shot. On his right, equipment boxes. To his left, the hallway turned down another path. Black stood still, the EBWF World Championship hung loosely on his left shoulder. He looked away from the camera for a second long before finally turning forward.

"Here we are! Here we are!

The night that no one thought was going to happen. The main event that absolutely no one predicted. Here we are. PJ Black takes on Samoa Joe in what everyone is calling...

A joke..."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

He stared at the camera. His body didn't move. His eyes didn't move. He stayed completely still.

"Call it a joke if you want to, I don't quite care because you know what. You've all called everything that I have done in this company a joke. Match after match, card after card. Anything and everything that I have done, is a joke.

It's bland. Boring. A snooze-fest.

No matter what way you want to spin the answer, everyone, including you Joe, think that I'm just a simple walk in the park. What is it really? Did you want to turn back the clock and pretend that you were in Ring of Honor where you, AJ Styles, Sami Zayn and numerous others started out? Is that want you wanted?

I bet when I got the win at Fallout you wanted me to turn around and give the championship back to AJ right? You wanted to face him on the grandest stage of them all."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black brought up his right hand and slapped himself in the chest.

"Well sorry to disappoint you Joe. AJ Styles didn't what he does with the women and he finished a little early in the Elimination Chamber. What can I say, when I man can't last til the end, people get disappointed."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

He shrugged his shoulders as to say he didn't care about AJ Styles.

"I know that you're disappointed Joe, but tonight, you've got me to contend with.

I know, you think I'm weak. I'm light work and this is your first and easiest WrestleMania ever. Am I right? Don't answer that because I know the answer.

See Joe, you come into this company saying that you're the destroyer. That you're going to be the one to take all the chumps out of this business and be the best this company has. Heck, I think you actually already think that you're the best. The problem with that is, you're not.

You're not the best in this company until you face off against the best this company has to offer and I assure you Joe, it's not AJ Styles. It's not Jimmy Havoc. It's not even Chris Jericho. You see, the best this company has to offer is the man that is standing in front of you as I speak. Me.

Don't take this the wrong way Joe. I'm not saying I'm the best because I'm cocky. I'm saying that I'm the best because all of last year, I dominated this company. Try to denounce it all you want, but I took the EBWF Path to Glory Championship to heights that it's never seen before. I proved that dominance isn't in the talking. It's in the actions in that ring. Challenger after challenger I turned away, not because I talked them to death with long winded promos.

I went out to that ring, I put it all on the line and I am the one that had that little bit of extra when it comes to all the ordinary that is in this locker room. Men like your boy CM Punk and Sami Zayn. They stepped up to the same plate that you're stepping on up to tonight. They thought they could knock the shit out of the park, but KKK they went down in the sixth and never showed back up."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

He stepped up to the camera.

"Don't believe me. Check the books Joe.

I make be the "Plain Jane" around these parts with my boring promos and the way I present myself. But out in that ring, when shit counts the most. I take no prisoners. This isn't Korea and there's no POWs when you walk into my domain. I go out there every night I put on a performance no man can match up against.

That was when I had the Path to Glory Championship. No man was able to beat me for the championship. I was unstoppable. I was "unbeatened" and it will remain that way because no one could get the job done.

So if I did that with the Path to Glory Championship. If I was that hard to kill for the second rate championship. What do you think it's going to take to get this off me."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

Black nudged the shoulder that had the EBWF World Championship on it.

"Tonight Joe. For you to win this match and take this EBWF World Championship away from me. You're going to have to dig deep down in your bag of tricks. You're going to have to come at me with everything that you got. Bring all your friends. All your ROH buddies. Bring your family. Bring the entire Isle of Samoa. It's not going to matter.

To get this World Championship off me Joe. You're going to have to kill me. You're going to have to paint that WrestleMania canvas red with my blood because I promise you. I will not stop. I will not quit. I will not give up! I will not break! I will not fall!

I will walk into WrestleMania 16 tonight. I will take everything that you have to throw at me. I might hurt. I might bleed. I might not have any hope left. But as long as there is one last breath in my body Joe. I will get back up. I will come at you. I will fight until that final bell rings."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

He paused for a second.

"I will walk out of WrestleMania, still the EBWF World Champion."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK

He looked on last time directly into the camera as the video cut.
