The television screens went out. The computer monitors flashed. Cellphones flickered. Radios went silent. All media just cut to an abrupt halt. Just then, all cringed as the loud noise of static rang out on every device. The blackness was replaced with video static as everyone checked their phones. They clicked away at their keyboards. Television remotes flashed red as they attempted to change channels. The numbers changed quickly as they scanned the radios. Every channel, every station, every website, every app. Corrupted and hacked to play the same static.

"Somebody help!!"

Dead in their tracks, everyone stopped and stared at their nearest media source. The voice, female, was faint and barely heard. Was it real? Was this a trick?

"Why are you doing this?!"

Sobbing could be heard in her words, but where did they come from? Was it from the static? Who was this female? Was she being held captive? Was she being harmed? These were the questions, but there were no answers.

The static continued everywhere. It drew more attention with every second that past. With eyes from all over the planet locked into the static, it shifted. Was that an image? Was it a face?

There it was again, but this time it stayed as it replaced the static. The man in the mask stood still, completely stiff. Who was this? Was this the unknown female voice? No. As the man remained immobile a deep, robotic voice could be heard.

"You did this... You wanted to play..."

The man disappeared as quickly as he appeared. The screen went black except for the words, "GAME ON" that slowly pixelated into existence in the middle of the screen. The bright blood red color of the letters popped off the screen as though it was in 3-D. Everyone cringed once again as the static returned for a quick few seconds before everything returned back to normal.

With the backdrop of the New York City skyline all lit up behind him, Jimmy Fallon sat behind his wooden desk wearing a blue suit jacket with a white dress shirt. The commercials had ended and the camera zoomed in on Jimmy as he spoke out quickly.

"My next guest, he's the EBWF World Champion. He has one of the biggest title defenses of his reign, this Sunday, when he takes on Jimmy Havoc in what is being called the most dangerous match in EBWF history. Here he is, EBWF Superstar, PJ Black."

Jimmy stood up as the house band began to play some of their own entrance music. The camera panned to the right where PJ Black walked out from behind some blue curtains. Dressed just as he did during his contract signing with Jimmy Havoc, PJ dressed up in a tight black designer suit. Buttoned, the black suit jacket hid a light gray dress shirt. Jimmy met him halfway to the stage as the two shook hands. They talked among themselves as they walked back toward the stage. The camera followed them as they split at the table. Fallon took his seat again behind the desk as Black walked in front of the desk and sat over in the guest side of the stage.

"PJ Black everybody!!"

Black gave a nod as the non-wrestling fans in the audience actually cheered for PJ, along with a few screaming girls. Black smiled as Jimmy spoke out again.

"PJ, I've been trying to get you on my show for quite some time and finally, here you are."

"Yeah, our schedules just never lined up perfectly and your agent missed my agent and then my agent missed yours and they played this tennis match, but here I am. We finally made it happen."

"With all the other wrestlers that I have had on my show, I know how busy your schedules can be, especially with you being the top dawg in the company right now. You're the EBWF World Champion! Your life has to be on a roller coaster these past few months."

"It has, for sure. It's crazy because we're always traveling from one city to another, but being at the top now. I'm being flown to three or four cities in one day."

"And you never think to yourself, "Why am I doing this to myself?"."

The camera panned from Jimmy to PJ who sat back in his chair.

"Honestly Jimmy, no, I've never said that about this business. See, this isn't a job for me, this is my life. The rush of this business is what fuels me inside. I can't get enough of it inside the ring or even out. I'm just bred that way I guess."

Black smiled as the camera panned back to Jimmy.

"Now that's what you've promoted yourself as. You're the "Darewolf" PJ Black. What is a Darewolf?"

"Ha, I get ask that question all the time and Jimmy, and a Darewolf is part daredevil and part werewolf. You mix them all together and you get just what I am all about. You get... a Darewolf."

"So this isn't just a character you play on TV? You are actually a Darewolf?"

"I don't play any games when it comes to who I am. The man that you see in that ring is the same man you'd see walking into the grocery store. I found a life living on the edge, and that's where I keep myself 24/7. I'm no gimmick. I'm no character."

"So you really jump out of planes and due stunts on a dirt bike?"

"I really do all that. Not so much the dirt bike much anymore. I had a few stunt bikes that I used to ride, but I would always found myself getting injured a day before having to fly out for a show. So, I decided to sell them, but yes skydiving, base-jumping. All of that I still do and if I could do it, I would jump everyday."

Jimmy looked off camera as the time limit drained rather quickly, so he had to push the topic.

"This Sunday, you're doing something daring a little differently. You defend your EBWF World Championship against Jimmy Havoc in what he is calling his "House of Havoc". Do you have any idea what this match is going to be like and what we can expect?"

"It's not him inviting me over for some bangers and mash, I checked."

He chuckled as did the audience in the studio.

"From what I gathered from his little description on Monday, it's a cage match with weapons. He tried to make it sound more menacing than it really seems to be. He listed off a list of what weapons he plans to have inside that cage, and sure, it sounds like it's going to be rough, but I've had my share of rough matches. Sure, not as much as the "King of Death-Matches" himself, but I'm sure that I can handle it."

"Light bulbs, hammers, baseball bats with barbed wire. These are the weapons that Havoc listed off. These aren't normal weapons. A table or a steel chair, sure, but look at this. A staple gun. Is this for real?"

"It looks like it."

"And you allowed this to happen. You allowed Havoc to pick his match. This match?!"

"A lot of people think that I'm stupid for that choice, but I didn't do it for Havoc. I did it for me. Sure, it benefits Havoc way more than it does me, but this is the excitement that I've been looking for since I won the belt. This is the excitement that I've wanted in EBWF for the last couple of years. This type of match. This type of craziness. This is what I thrive on and this Sunday inside Jimmy's little "House of Havoc", I'm going to thrive. I'm going to become the one and only, true Darewolf. It's going to be one heck of a fight, and you're not going to want to miss it."

With both men in the shot, the center camera took over the filming. Fallon looked over at Black as he begun to wrap up the interview.

"Now that match takes place this Sunday."

"Yes, this Sunday at SummerSlam. The biggest part of the summer. It starts at 7PM Eastern, 4 Pacific."

"And just like all of EBWF's biggest shows, you can only get to see it live, only on Pay Per View. Is that right?"

"That's right, and believe me, you don't want to miss this one."

"PJ, I'd like to thank you for finally making time for me and we're going to have to sit down and do this again."

The camera panned in and focused solely on Jimmy Fallon as he finished off the show in his normal routine before the show's house band played the show to an end.

The camera clicked to lift, focused on the carpeted floor of what seemed to be a bedroom. The camera fumbled around for a couple of seconds before PJ Black turned the camera to himself. He outstretched his arm and aimed the camera down at himself.

"Here we are in Portland, and we're just a little over 24 hours before the biggest show of the summer, SummerSlam. A night where I defend my World Championship against the man that seems to be your favorite person in the World right now, Jimmy Havoc. Please."

Black shook his head which caused the camera to lose focus for a quick second, but it stabilized again rather quickly.

"I know what you're thinking. You're thinking that I have it out for Jimmy Havoc, but you're quite wrong. See, Havoc and I, sure we don't see eye to eye. Especially seeing that he thinks that he's the best in the company right now. Even better than me because he happened to beat me once, a while ago. Now, I'll hand it to you Havoc. You did beat me, I can't make up an excuse. Just like I did with Enzo. I admitted that Enzo beat me, on a Warfare. Which, it would seem that you hold that accomplishment on such a high pedestal, just like Enzo. And I get that. I get that it's probably the biggest accomplishment that you've ever got."

Black paused as he looked forward away from the camera.

"Now you're going to tell me that you've been Intercontinental Champion. Path to Glory Champion. Tag-Team Champion. Breakout Champion. Gateway Champion. King of the Ring. That's a long list, and you should be proud. There's even a few things on there that I haven't done, or haven't wanted, but that's your list. A list that is almost complete except for the EBWF World Championship. My championship. And now, here you are. Always the underdog, fighting for something that people don't believe he should have. But what you're failing to see Havoc... is your little rise to fame, it's a sequel. That's right, it's been done before. A few years ago, Sami Zayn plucked himself out of obscurity and he won the King of the Ring Tournament to become number one contender. He then went on to SummerSlam, where he won by the way, surprisingly. But see, it's been done. You're living a dream that has already come true, so why? Why do you think that you have what it takes to be the first to make a sequel better? I mean, I don't see it happening, but you must have some little oracle hidden away somewhere that is whispering in your ear some visions of the future that you hope and pray will come true. But I'm here to tell you Jimmy, they're not."

He turned his head to the camera once again.

"You're hold onto one match that happened one time. One night out of the entire year where for just a few minutes, you were better. For a few seconds, you were better. But let's look at what's happened since that little victory of your Jimmy. Let's take a little stroll down memory lane. Since then, I continued to hold onto the EBWF Path to Glory Championship and went on to become... "The Longest Reigning, and Unbeaten, Undisputed Path to Glory Champion in the History of EBWF." You? You danced around the tag-team division with more partners than a raging swingers party. You remain just relevant enough to stay in the dead division that I brought back. Congrats."

He rolled his eyes as he looked away from the camera again.

"Then, you went on to unify the EBWF Intercontinental Championship and the EBWF Path to Glory Championship to become the very first EBWF Gateway Champion. And then... you lost to Samoa Joe. Me on the other hand, I held onto the Path to Glory Championship and without even cashing it it, I won the EBWF World Championship. I was the first and only person in EBWF to hold both the EBWF World Championship and EBWF Path to Glory Championship simultaneously. Then, against my will, I had to give up the Path to Glory Championship, which allowed you to win it. Then in my first title defense, I beat Samoa Joe to retain the EBWF World Championship."

He turned his head back around and looked into the camera once again.

"So you see there Havoc, where I've been on the rise of my career since you beat me, you've been on a downward spiral, which will continue tonight at SummerSlam. Which brings me around to why I decided to allow you to choose whatever match your black heart desired. I for one thought you were going to choose your signature, Death-Match, but what the hell, a little invite to your "House of Havoc" sounds like a delightful way to spend my Sunday night. I let you choose this match Havoc because not only did I want you to have all the advantages you could get for this match. But I too have something to prove in this match. I need to prove that it doesn't matter who I'm up against. What match I'm in. I will always come out on top. One way or another, I will always come out on top. I don't want there to be any excuses Havoc. This is your match, on your grand night after winning King of the Ring. You're the fan favorite going into this thing. You have all the chips on your side of the table and I'm going all in. There's no excuse for you to not win this match. If you're as great as you say you are. If you really are the weapon expert that you claim to be. Then tomorrow night, you should be able to walk over me with ease. Right?"

He shook his head slowly.

"You think this is going to be easy. You think that I'm just going to stumble around inside that cage and not know what to do. Which, it might happen, but when I get my hands on one of those weapons. When I get my hands on you. It's going to be you that wish you would have chosen a different match. A less brutal match. Once I get my head on straight in this match, you better be ready! This isn't a warning to you Jimmy, I know that you think you have everything for this match planned out. I know that you picked this match because you're really going to show me something. And I don't doubt that you will. I don't doubt that I'm going to bleed. I don't doubt that I'll have bruises and scars that will last a lifetime. I don't doubt that my career will be shortened. But I also don't doubt that I will not stop. Hit me with your light bulbs. Puncture me with you staple gun. Grate my face with your barbed wire. I'm ready to do it all back to you Jimmy. And one way or another Jimmy, I'm going to win this. I'm going to walk out of your "House of Havoc", and I'm going to be given the EBWF World Championship as I look back at your bloody body, barely breathing. Motionless. Broken. I know what I have to do to beat you tomorrow night, Jimmy. I know what I have to do. I basically have to beat you within an inch of your life. I have to beat you til you don't move anymore. I know that I have to destroy you unlike anyone before. But you Havoc... You have no idea what it's going to take to stop me. You don't know what you're going to have to do to stop me. You think you might. You think that I'm just another pretty boy who can't scrap with the best of them, but see, that's where you're wrong."

Black moved the camera forward and looked straight into it.

"You see Jimmy, all those places you grew up wrestling in. All those buildings. I've been there, I've seen them all. It's all the wrestlers that put on those shows that made me want to return to this business. The passion that they put into every move they did. That is what brought my passion and love for this sport back after I almost lost it forever. So I would watch the greats. I would watch the matches that they put on. And I would learn from that. I would learn to wrestle their style of wrestling. All of that, it build me into the wrestler that I am today. He bred me to be the hybrid athlete that I am tonight. So before you believe that this is going to be a walk in the park for you. Maybe with some falling branches. You better second guess yourself. You better start thinking that PJ Black, he's serious about everything he does in that ring. He's serious about every move he makes. He's ready for this crazy match that you thought up. He's ready for you. I'm ready for you. And I'm ready to enter the "House of Havoc"."

He looked into the camera directly before he reached forward with his free hand and turned off the camera.

A yell of pain spread through the streets as all forms of the media once again snowballed aloud with static. From televisions, radio, cellphone, and computers. Everything. This wasn't the first time this static had attacked the population. The first, a woman yelled out for help as someone held her captive. Or that was believed to be the case. A message afterward warned of the game being over.

None of it made sense. Not one bit.

"Why are you just standing there? Please?!"

In the static, there it was once again. It was that voice. That woman, in pain as she cried out for help. Who was she? What was happening? What was this all about?

There he was again, out of the static, the faceless man in mask stood in in the center of the screen. Motionless again, the figure stood. His voice, that deep robotic tone, cleared the air of the static.

"Her blood, is on your hands now... She is your victim, not ours..."

The static returned, with more voices. Different voices. Male. Female. Children. All of them echoing the word, "ours". Then, abrupt silence.

"She will burn in your name..."

The static returned as the Man in Static faded. The static however, it wasn't just static. In the static, there she was. The woman. Tied to a chair, the long raven-haired woman sat, her arms bound behind her back. Her legs strapped to the legs of the chair. She was helpless. Hopeless.

He clothes were ripped and torn, but her face, hidden in the static. Her cries could be heard as she watched a large man, too big to be the Man in Static, walk up to her with a bright red gas can. Gasping was heard all over as the man lifted the can and poured gasoline all over the woman.

"No! Please stop! AH!!"

The static over took the video as the large man let out a loud laugh. The small flame of a match sparked up as the static completely took over. As everyone wondered what they had just witnessed, the screen become black again. The words, "JIMMY HAVOC" appeared out of no where. What was going on and what did Jimmy Havoc have to do with this woman?

Backstage, the workers buzzed around like worker bees as everyone hustled to make sure that EBWF SummerSlam went off without a hitch, and so far, it had. Among the workers backstage, PJ Black sat on top of an equipment crate. He looked down at his phone, the EBWF World Championship nestled in his lap.

"Sell out? How the hell am I a sell out?! I was never in anywhere to sell out. Besides, I'm the bad guy. Just because I wear a suit to a formal meeting, unlike Havoc, so what? How does that make me a sell out?"

Black was obviously reading comments that were written about him.

"Oh, the attack. They think I'm working for Jericho now. What a laugh! I wouldn't work with Wes Ikeda's butt buddy even if he was the last promoter in the world. Everyone knows that I do things my way, on my own. I attack Havoc, so what. I did that because he got cocky at the end of the signing and well, I didn't take too kindly to it. It pissed me off. So I attacked him. Simple as that."

He scrolled through his phone and laughed at a few more comments.

"What the fuck is all this shit about me being a "Man in Static"? Where are the EBWF Universe getting their drugs these days? Must be some top notch stuff, that must be where Styles' has been. Why would I burn some chick? And everyone knows I like blondes. Why do you think I didn't get back with Velvet when she begged me? Come on people, get with it. Oh, this one is funny. "PJ Black wasn't in the right state of mine when he made that contract." Of course I was. I made that contract and gave Havoc his choice of match because I was bored. I want a challenge and this is the perfect challenge. Beating Havoc in his own house, they only way it could be better is if his mom cooked up some bangers and mash. I still need to try that."

Black chuckled as he continued.

"Yes, I know what I'm getting myself into. It's just Jimmy Havoc. A watered down version, but it's still Jimmy Havoc. He might be a fan favorite and trying to please all of you, but I know that he will still get down and dirty in this match. I'm not underestimating him. Watered down or not, he's still Jimmy Havoc. "King of Death-Matches." The most dangerous man in EBWF. And this is his playground. But he's still going to lose. Like it or not. I'm prepared for Havoc. Havoc's not prepared for me. Nope, I won't date you. Not with those teeth. Pass."

He continued to scroll up on his phone.

""PJ hasn't talked about everyone he defeated?! The world is ending." No, not the world dude. I know it may seem like it with all the shit going on, but I'm sure the world will still be intact when it's all said and done. As for everyone I've beaten, go back and look at the list. The only thing that's changed is it's gotten a little longer. And after tonight there will be another name on that list. So what, I've already said all I need to say. They tried, they failed, and I won. Simple."

He hummed as he continued to scroll. He looked for another comment that he could comment on.

""Jimmy Havoc has PJ Black's number." So that's who keeps calling during dinner. And here I thought it was just a pesky telemarketer. How did he get my number? Damn EBWF database. Do you really think that he can beat me? Like really? Really? Damn, I'm starting to sound like The Miz, but seriously... Really? Havoc thinks that he can beat me just because he's done it before. He did it before I became something great and he became the thing that everyone drops in the toilet everyday. He thinks that his victory meant something big, but in reality, Havoc, your win against me, it meant nothing. No, it didn't only mean nothing because it was on a Warfare, but it meant nothing because it did nothing for you. Your victory over me, it got you no where. It still took you over a year to even get a shot at the EBWF World Championship after that win. It took me dropping the EBWF Path to Glory Championship for you to even get that. What I'm trying to say Havoc is that, you're not as good as you think you are. You're not worthy of this shot at the EBWF World Championship, but here we are and you're getting your shot. I mean, let's round up the entire circus and give them shots. Edge gave one to Enzo. Havoc managed to earn a shot through becoming "King of the Goths". Catchy. But just as you share this underdog mentality with Enzo, your fate will be shared as well. He beat me, okay. He had a chance to do something great, and he failed. Havoc, you beat me, you have a chance to do something great. But I'm afraid you're going to fail too."

Black lowered his phone as he stood up.

"I'm done looking at these stupid comments from the EBWF Universe. You all seem to think that Jimmy Havoc is going to take my championship away from me tonight. Just like you've thought everyone else before Jimmy was going to take my championship away from me. You all thought it, but it didn't make a difference. The outcome then is the same as the outcome tonight. I'm going to be victorious and Jimmy Havoc, you're going to be a giant failure!"

He tucked his phone into his back pocket as he turned and walked away from the equipment crate.
