As always, the EBWF house show crowds were wild and crazy as ever, here in Edmonton. The Universe showed who they truly liked and who really pissed them off by being a vocal as ever. In the middle of the chaos, the lights in arena dimmed. On the sound system, crackling was heard before "Sick Of It" blasted. The Universe, just like on television, erupted in a loud show of disapproval as PJ Black walked out with the EBWF World Championship securely on his left shoulder. Dressed in his ring gear, Black finished the outfit off with an old, purple and black, "Darewolf" t-shirt.
With a cocky smile, Black walked down to the ring with the series of boos that rained in from the EBWF Universe. He made it down the little aisle-way quickly and entered the ring in no time. He walked over and grabbed the microphone and tapped on it.
TAP TAP TAP
He smirked as he raised the microphone. He made his way back to the center of the ring before he finally spoke out.
"So, I don't normal come out here to talk in front of as little amount of people that is here tonight, but it's Canada. What the hell, no one is paying attention."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
The Canadian crowd raised the volume on their boos. Black shook his head and talked over the boos.
"YEAH! I CAN TALK LOUDER TOO!!"
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
He waited a few seconds before he continued. The ruckus crowd quieted shortly after.
"This Sunday, a few miles south, EBWF will be down in Calgary for what's known as Death Before Dishonor.
A Pay-Per-View where I will defend my EBWF World Championship, successfully I might add, against Alex Riley."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
He paused and moved closer to the ropes on the camera side.
"He earned it, I'll give him that.
He took on Joe and came out the winner. Cheated. But still won the match none the less."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
He shrugged his shoulders as he leaned against the ropes.
"Now Riley, I hope that your victory over Joe didn't go to your head. Joe's a competitor, I'll give the dude that. I went toe-to-toe with him at WrestleMania and I won't lie, there was a few times that I thought my title reign was in jeopardy. But I powered through the pain and the torture to come back and beat Joe.
1... 2... 3..."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
Black clapped his hands together with every number.
"I didn't need any tricks. I didn't need any shortcuts. I didn't need a club.
No, I came out to this ring and I beat Joe. I thought it would shut him up, but the dude still things that he's better than me. But I guess it's true what they say. You can't teach an old dog, new tricks. Joe,
he's always going to believe that he's better than me. He's going to believe that I have never fought in the trenches."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
PJ stood back up straight and walked around the ring for couple of seconds.
"Well let me tell you something.
I grew up in this business. I fought in promotions that if you asked someone, they've never heard of it.
I've wrestled around the globe and back. My path might have gotten diverted for a slight moment, but all the roads in my life brought me back to this business.
I bled. I sweat. I break my body for this business."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
Black stood in the center of the ring and looked down at the mat. His with right index finger, he pointed to the mat. In a calm voice, he begun to speak once again.
"In this ring, I have given everything there is to give."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
Black looked up from the mat and into the camera.
"So, I've fighting in the trenches for years. Now, all those fights, they mean something. It means this..."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
He took the EBWF World Championship off his shoulder and he raised it high in the air.
"It means that I'm the best in the entire world.
In this company. In this industry. In this world.
I'm the best and it doesn't matter what you think, say, or do. I will continue to be the best because I've earned this right. This is mine and no one is going to steal it away from me.
You can try..."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
Black lowered the championship back down to his shoulder in mid-sentence. He continued to look into the camera.
"I welcome you to try, Alex.
However Alex, believe me when I tell you this. The outcome of you trying. It's going to be the same of every person that has come before you tried to knock me down. They all tried, and they all failed. Better men than you Alex. They tried, and they failed.
It's a common trend around me Alex, and you should notice it. You can't be as dumb as the rest of the locker room. I mean, after all. You're still in high school and you're on Varsity. So you have to have been keeping your grades up.
Someone challenges me. That same person loses. Time and time again, I say it's going to be the same outcome and it is.."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
He gave the Universe another cocky smirk.
"Regardless though, no matter how many people I beat. No matter how many challengers I send packing...
You all still belittle me..
You continue to believe that I'm just a flash in the pan that's going to fizzle out in due time, but guess what. I'm still here.
Time after time, all I hear is that I'm undeserving. I'm no good. I don't belong in this company, let alone it's champion. Insult after insult to my mic skills. My wrestling skills. And the fact that I didn't hang out on the "known" indy circuit. But then time after time, none of those "talkers" could back up their talk when they got into this ring with me."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
Black paused for another second as he thought about what to say next.
"I say all this because Alex, I know that you're going to do the same as everyone before you. You're going to talk shit.
You and your little club are all going to sit up in Barbie's Dream Tree-House, and you're going to talk the same talk that The Miz has already said. That Sami Zayn had said. That Samoa Joe had said.
You're going to say you're better. You're going to say I suck. You're going to make fun of my name again.
Am I getting warmer?
Doesn't matter. What matter Alex is if you're going to back up the talk. Are you going to fight your way out the trenches to take what's mine. Are you sure that you have what it takes to get the job done?
Because if not Alex, save your breath.
I don't need to hear you and your boys club talking a lot of shit that you don't intend to back up. I'm done with pretending around here."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
The crowd continue to stay quiet as Black continued.
"I'm done with listening to people talk. I'm ready to finally find someone that back up what they're going to say. I mean, I already know what you're going to say. I hear it from everyone. But unlike everyone, I need someone to back it up and give me a challenge around here.
At the rate that I'm going, I'm going to have beaten everyone on this roster and go on to be the EBWF World Champion for years and years. Which, I don't have a problem with doing.
Especially since so far, no one has even come close to proving to me that I don't belong right where I'm at...
Out of the trenches and sitting high.. On top of the mountain."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
Black lowered the microphone as "Sick Of It" returned to the sound system. He dropped to the mat and rolled out of the ring onto the apron. He sat on the edge for a second before he hopped down and headed to the back.
Dressed to impress, Corey Graves sat upright on a wooden stool. His left leg was anchored to the ground like a kickstand as his right rested on the lowest pron of the stool. His suit was tight, his hair was stuck in place with pounds of hairspray.
"Good evening EBWF Universe. Tonight, I sit down with the EBWF World Champion, PJ Black. We're going to talk about his championship reign and being at the top. We're going to talk about tomorrow night, where PJ will defend the championship against Varsity Club's, Alex Riley. What will PJ Black say heading his next challenger? Stay tuned to find out.
I'm Corey Graves, and this is...
A Grave Situation."
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
The video feed was interrupted with the opening credits of was seemed to be a trail version of a new EBWF.com exclusive show. Quickly after the credits ended, the black screen faded to the video of Corey Graves once again. This time, EBWF World Champion, PJ Black sat across from Corey on his own stool. He mirrored Corey, as his right leg hung down and supported him on the ground. The EBWF World Championship belt was strapped around his arm and fit snug on his shoulder. Black, dressed nice himself with a clean pair of dark blue jeans. I light blue button up shirt hide behind a deep grey dress vest. The long sleeves of the shirt were rolled up his forearms in a casual manner. In PJ Black fashion, he held his hair away from his face with a pair of black sunglasses on his the top of his head.
Corey Graves lowered a handful of papers to his lap as he looked up and over PJ.
"PJ, let me first welcome you to the show and being my first guest on this first episode of Grave Situation."
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
"It's good to be here Corey. I like what you did with the place."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
He looked around as he adjusted himself on the stool. Graves wasted no more time with pleasantries as he dove right into the questions.
"Now PJ, my show, it's not like all the other shows. I'm not going to beat around the bush and make small talk. So here it is PJ. You've been World Champion now PJ for about three months now. Am I right?"
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
"Give or take a few days, sure."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"So when are we going to get the "PJ Black Championship Day Counter"? I mean, you are going to count up until you surpass the EBWF World Championship title record, right?"
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
Black chuckled as Graves finished up the question.
"You got me there Corey, and I get it. A lot of people are tired of hearing me talk about my record. They were tired of hearing how many days that I was Path to Glory Champion, and I'm sure they're worried that I'm going to start the same thing now being the World Champion. And you know what, maybe I will.
See Corey, I mention all of this, all of my accomplishments. Not because I'm trying to brag about what I've done in this company. But it's because no matter how many times I say it. No matter how many times I go out there and prove that I'm the best. No one gets it.
They see me still as a paper champion. Someone who shouldn't be champion, but I'm a charity case that EBWF just couldn't pass up on. I hear all the rumors. I hear all the talk, but see, that's okay. It's okay for everyone to continue to doubt me. It just means that I have more and more chances to keep proving everyone wrong."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
Black took a breather, but Corey was right there to continue the conversation flowing.
"By "everyone", you mean people like Samoa Joe.
AJ Styles."
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
"Them, sure. But it's not only them. You've seen it Corey. You've heard it. I sound like a broken record with every match, every title defense,
and every Pay-Per-View, not because I don't have something new to say. But because no matter what new things I could say, I have to rehash everything because my "challengers" continue with the same complaints about me."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
Black looked down at his hand as he counted along as he spoke.
"I was stupid for not cashing in the Path to Glory Championship. I don't deserve the World Championship. I don't belong at the top. I'm not a go wrestler. All I do is jump around the ring. I changed my name. My title reign was meaningless since it was only the Path to Glory Championship. I didn't defend against anyone important.
The list goes on Corey, but I'm sure you get my point.
I've heard all these things so many times now, that I'm sure I could peg Alex Riley's promo on me."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
Black shook his head.
"No matter who I beat, how ever many times I beat them, or how I beat them, it doesn't seem to matter. It doesn't matter to anyone, except for me it seems.
So that is why I continue to announce where I sit. If no one wants to pay attention to me, I will make them."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"Now speaking of Alex Riley. Tomorrow night,
you will defend that EBWF World Championship against him. Probably against the entire Varsity Club.
Are you worried?"
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
"Worried? About the Varsity Club? You can't be serious Corey."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"Hey man, Varsity Club came down to the ring a few weeks ago after your match with AJ Styles and attacked. They've been seen at each other's matches week in and week out. You have to think that tomorrow night, with the World Championship on the line, Alex Riley's not going to be far from his club."
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
"Corey, I've said it once and I'll say it against."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
PJ leaned up on the stool.
"Riley can bring his Varsity Club. He can bring the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He can bring his teachers, the school nurse, the guidance counselor.
He can even bring his Great-Aunt Sally "Three-Toes", twice removed, on his mother's side.
I don't care who Alex decides to bring down to that ring tomorrow night because the result will be the same.
I will walk of Death Before Dishonor, still the EBWF World Champion."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
Graves flipped through the stack of papers as he looked for what was next.
"So you're not worried at all about Alex Riley?"
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
"Tell me what there is to be worried about,
Corey."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"He's been on a roll. Former EBWF Intercontinental Champion. Beat Samoa Joe at Fallout to earn the right to face you. And with the Varsity Club behind him, he looks unstoppable."
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
"Unstoppable? Is that so? Okay, okay...
Let me tell you a little something about being unstoppable Corey. Unstoppable isn't losing on the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania. In a match where you could literally walk out in the history books at the first ever Gateway Champion. No. Being unstoppable is winning at WrestleMania, in the main event, against a man that wanted to tear your head off. Being unstoppable Corey, is going out there and no matter who is put in front of you, you beat them. Alex Riley, he beat Samoa Joe, after I destroy his mentality. Destroyed his hopes and dreams of ever making it to the top. Alex Riley got a beaten, washed-up, broken version of the man that I faced and beat at WrestleMania. So before you call Alex Riley unstoppable against Corey, just remember, I've beaten far more better men than Alex Riley has, and I've don't it continuously."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"So you don't think of Alex Riley as a threat then?"
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
"I didn't say that Corey, and if you're going to keep trying to put words in my mouth, I can walk."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"No, no, stay. I told you this wasn't going to be like all the rest PJ and I meant it. So if you don't think that Alex Riley is dangerous with everything that he's got going on his side, and you're not saying he's not a threat, then in your own words. Tell me what you think of Alex Riley."
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
Graves lowered the papers and stared at PJ as he awaited his response.
"You want to know what I think about Alex Riley?
Let me tell you what I think about Alex Riley.
He's undeserving. Sure, a lot of people have said that about me, but I've proved them all wrong. Alex,
he hasn't proved anything. Everyone keeps giving him all these chances, and he blows them all worse than a daytime prostitute.
He's done nothing to make a name for himself aside from being aligned with The Miz. He thought that he was getting out of Miz's shadow by beating Miz and making him his servant, but really, what have you done with this freedom Alex? You became the EBWF Intercontinental Champion, congratulations. Do you want a cookie?
After that, you were shot straight to the top to do what? Fail over and over again.
You failed in the Elimination Chamber when I eliminated you. You failed at WrestleMania when you could have merged two championship to become the first at something. You've failed so much since "stepping out"
of the Miz's shadow that you had to go and create a group, who includes The Miz, shocking. To help you out, and even then, you still fail.
Now, stranger things have happened, and there is still a chance that you could manage to beat me tomorrow night, but let's face it. Where you've been failing, over and over. I've been succeeding. I've been making a name for myself and putting my mark on this company. I've been doing what everyone said I couldn't do. So believe me, I know that shocking things, can happen. But Alex, to make those things happen, you have to make them happen. I made it all happen. Me. By myself. I took this company and I ran with it,
while you... You "broke loose" from The Miz to be your own man, only to put yourself back in a group.
A group where your name reflects their names. So when they're nobodies, it makes you a nobody Alex.
So that's what I think Alex Riley, Corey. I think that he's a nobody, who thinks that he's broken out from the shackles that once bound him. Only to realize that you're still, locked underground. Where no one cares about you and no one will remember you."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
Corey looked at Black for a little while longer before finally speaking up.
"Some harsh thoughts there."
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
"You said this was a hard hitting show, am I right?"
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"That I did."
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
"So that's what I'm doing. You asked what I thought about Alex Riley, and I told you. The kid thinks that he's better than he is. He's always thought that, and he always will think that. But until he starts showing that he can hang, long term, with the best of this company, me. Then he's going to continue to fail and be let down. He's going to continue to realize that he's not the best, he never was the best, and he's never going to be the best."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
Graves flipped another page behind the stack and looked up.
"Alright PJ, let's take a little look past Death Before Dishonor tomorrow night. Let's say you do what you say you're going to do, and beat Alex Riley to retain the EBWF World Championship. Have you been looking at what's next? King of the ring is in full swing, so there's going to be a contender for SummerSlam crowd for sure. But will you make it to SummerSlam? Jimmy Havoc or Samoa Joe? One of those two men will be EBWF Gateway Champion by the end of the night tomorrow night. The next cash in time is at Sacrifice. One of them could cash in and challenge you.
The challenger for the championship at the King of the Ring Pay-Per-View hasn't been named yet, could be anyone."
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
"Whoa there Corey, you're throwing out a lot of "what ifs" out there."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"These are all topic that everyone wants to know PJ. What do you see for your future, if you can walk out tomorrow still the champion."
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
"Listen. The future, it has a lot of variables.
As you said, the Gateway Championship can be cashed before SummerSlam. The King of the Ring Pay-Per-View is on deck. A lot of things to take into consideration, but first and foremost Corey. You know better than anyone not to get too far ahead of yourself, specially when you're the champion."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
Black patted his championship.
"I don't plan on losing this championship for a long, long time, that's for sure. So the future, it has me as the champion, no matter what happens.
But I'm not looking that far ahead just yet. Sure, whatever comes my way...
Samoa Joe, Jimmy Havoc, whoever.
They're going to come. They're going to try to take what's mine. I know it's going to happen. There's nothing that I can do about it until the match takes place and I can dominate them, just like I do everyone else.
So for now, I'm not looking into the future. Alex Riley has my complete focus at the moment, and tomorrow night. I'm going to go to work.
I'm going to go out to that ring tomorrow night and I'm going to put on a show. A clinic. I'm going to show Alex Riley and his club, that I'm the real deal around here. Last month, I beat Randy Orton plain and simple. With his own move at that. Three weeks ago, I beat AJ Styles. Again, plain and simple, just like that. Then two weeks ago, even with the baggage of having AJ Styles as my tag partner, I beat two members of Varsity Club. Hell, last year, I wiped the floor with The Miz a couple of times. And this year, at Elimination Chamber, I beat you already Alex. So by myself, I have already beat every single one of your little club. I'm not one to brag, but, that's gotta be note worthy.
But putting all that where it belongs, in the past. The future is still clear Alex. Tomorrow night,
you're going to go out to that ring, alone or with your club, it doesn't matter. Either way, you're going to go out there and you think. Key word there, think. You think that you're going to beat me. Just like everyone else. You think that you're going to beat me and finally stop the dominance that I've shown in this company recently. You're going to try you hardest, I know, but your hardest Alex. It's not going to be enough."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
Corey looked down at his watch.
"Not to cut you off champ, but we're running short on time and there's one other thing that I wanted to touch base with you on."
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
"Alright, what do you want to know Corey?"
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"Politics aside. Matches and opponents aside.
PJ, I want to know what you're feeling. No one has really gotten the chance to ask you since winning the EBWF World Championship back in February, but how does it feel? How does it feel to finally have the top prize in this business? To be at the top of the mountain with the target on your back?"
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
"Corey, you're right. No one has really asked me that. Probably because no one thought that I would still be champion after WrestleMania, but look where we are. So to answer you Corey, it's finally starting to sink in really."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"Enlighten me."
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
"I'm sure you know what it's like Corey. Do be on the top of the mountain and looking at the rest of the roster knowing that they want to be where you're at. Knowing that just a few months ago you, yourself were in their shoes. The championship belt might not look heavy, but with the belt, comes all the responsibility that comes with being the champion. Now,
I've been a champion before here, and in other promotions, but never the World Championship, so in reality Corey, I didn't know how heavy of weight was going to come with this championship."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"Is it too much to handle?"
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
"Not even close. I live for this Corey. I live to be the best at what I'm doing. Whether I'm thousands of feet in the air, jumping out of planes. Of I'm climbing turnbuckles to cave peoples chests in. When I set out to do something, I set out to do it and to become the best at it. So inside that ring and outside it, I strive to be the very best that I can be.
And now, with this championship belt, I've proved that I'm the best inside that ring. I didn't do it by taking the easy road. I didn't do it by cashing in the Path to Glory Championship. I didn't do it by facing nobodies. I made it to the top through hard work, hard fought matches, and hours beyond hours of training to be the very best. So now, after all that hard work, I have this championship to show that I am currently the best. A lot of people may try to make that claim. But I'm the only one that has this belt to prove that what I claim to be, I am. No matter what anyone says. As long as I hold this championship.
I'm the best."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"Surely no one can argue that."
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
"You'd be surprise Corey with just how many people continue to argue that fact. But no matter how much the like to argue about it using their words.
I continue to go out there and I continue to win. I continue to go out there and be, "Big Match Black".
You dig?"
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"Now, "Big Match Black", where did you come up with that?"
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
"I didn't come up with Corey, I am it. See,
some people, they like to take credit on the little matches. They think that every week on Warfare,
you need to win. And if you don't, it means you're weaker. But Warfare don't matter Corey. Sure, you never want to miss it, but let's be real Corey. When's the last time a match on Warfare really determined anything? When was a match on Warfare a contender for Match of the Year? The matches that matter, are the "big ones". They're the matches at the Pay-Per-Views. They matches were there's something at stake.
Those are the matches I thrive on. Those are the matches that I will not, can not, lose. So yeah,
I might lose a Warfare here and a Warfare there. But when it really matters. Where everything is on the line. When it can't get no bigger... That's when I step up. When I become unstoppable. Where I become..."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
Black paused for a second. Corey looked at him and was about to speak up as PJ cut him off.
"Big Match Black."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
"Sounds like that just says it all in just three words."
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
"Well Corey, I don't want to bore anyone."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
Black chuckled at what seemed to be an inside joke.
"Well PJ, it looks like we're out of time.
There's a lot more that I know we can talk about so, what do you say about coming back to the set sometimes and we'll continue on with the story of PJ Black."
.staydown//COREY_GRAVES
"Sure thing Corey, just let my people know."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
The two men stood up and shook hands as the video cut out. The shows ending credits ran through quickly to end the video.
THE BEST
MAY 28, 2017
CALGARY, ALBERTA, CANADA
DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR CAMERAS
The video feed cut from ringside to backstage, where none other PJ Black stood in front of the Death Before Dishonor logo. The EBWF World Championship draped over his shoulder as he stood there in street clothes. He held onto the title as he moved from side to side before he finally spoke up.
"Alex, tonight, the two of us go out to that ring to fight each other. Two men, so different from each other that it seems unlikely that they would have a similar thought.
But we do Alex. We do.
See, for different reason, we both think of this match as a joke. You? You think that it's a joke because I'm in the match. You don't think that I deserve to be where I am, and that is the champion. You probably even want me to hand the title over to you?
That'll make things easier on me, you say."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
Black paced back and forth for a second before stopping.
"But you see Alex, I'm here because I earned it.
I earned this championship by defeating you, and 4 others inside the Elimination Chamber at Fallout.
I did that.
You? You're in this match because you think that you deserve to be. You think that beating a man that I already sent packing means that you belong at the top. News flash Alex, it doesn't."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
Black turned his body towards the camera and ran his hand through his hair.
"Alex, you just don't get it.
You walk around this company thinking that you're the best. Hell, you've even turned the company into a high school and started calling yourself and your moronic group of misfits, the Varsity Club. And no one can sit with you. But hey, guess what. No one wants to sit with you. Why? Because you think that you're the coolest kids on the block, but in reality, you're the loser table.
I mean look around Alex. Ever since you started up this Varsity Club, you think that you would be on top,
but you're not. You've lost everything that you had, as little as it might have been. You lost the EBWF Intercontinental Championship to man who thinks being somebody in dead division means something. You lost to Havoc. Now come on."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
He shook his head and looked down for a second.
"So really Alex, do you think that you have what it takes to go out there tonight and actually beat me?
What am I saying, of course you do.
You believe it so much that you're probably already picking out what color streamers you're going to have for your "Championship Celebration Prep Rally".
Wake up Alex, this isn't high school anymore. There is no Varsity and JV squads around here anymore except for the fake one that you made up to make yourself, and your little club feel important enough to continue to matter around here. And I'll admit, it worked for a little while, but it all ends tonight."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
Black was looking back at the camera now as he continued.
"Tonight, I open your eyes to the truth that this world has for you Alex. The truth that you and your little Varsity Club, you're nothing.
You've always been nothing. And you will always be nothing.
Believe it or not Alex, it makes not difference. It makes no difference at all because honestly, I've made everyone that has come before you realize the truth, just like you will tonight. Every one of them thought the same things that you're thinking Alex. And sure, you might really deep down inside believe them to true, but they're not. The truth is that you are a loser. Especially when you step into the ring with me,
P. J. Black."

He outstretched his arms and smiled.
"Look at me Alex when I tell you this so you can see for yourself that I'm not wavering. I'm not shaking. I'm not worried one little bit heading into this match."

His arms lowered on their own as he continued to speak.
"Am I in for a fight, probably.
But Alex, I have been fighting non-stop since I won the EBWF Path to Glory Championship a year and a half ago and I haven't shown any signs of letting up and I'm not going to start tonight. I'm not going to give you the satisfaction of being the first man to actually step up and beat me. Not you Alex. You don't deserve it because you've done nothing to deserve to be where you are at right now.
But it's been a slow couple of months since Mania and the executives trying to get the King of the Ring Tournament up and going without me in there. It's all be a mess and I guess they over looked some other people and thought that you Alex, were ready for this. But whoever made that decision has since been fired probably, but all I know is that this. All of this tonight... It'll forever be known as the "O.B.A.M.A"
of EBWF.
One big ass mistakes. Alex."

A confident smirk grew on PJ's face.
"Take advantage of the time that you're given Alex. For now, is the time for you to finally try to get yourself and the Varsity Club over. You're not going to become the EBWF World Champion tonight, no matter what you try to pull. But being in the main event. Getting some air time. It's what you really need to try to make Varsity Club stick around here.
Everyone knows you all need all the help that you can get.
I mean, seriously. How many matches have you all won collectively since joining up together?
Sure, you've held a title and manage to hold onto it for a bit. Miz has been on the shelf for a while.
But Titus and Darren? What have they done? Better yet, what have you done Alex?"

He shook his head as he shrugged his shoulders.
"The way I see it Alex, you all call yourselves the best. The Varsity Club. Better than everyone else because we're all, "JV".
However, with your record against the "JV Squad" as of late. I mean come on, if you're really superior don't you think that the win column would be more in your favor? I'm just saying.
I don't know if there's a difference between the schools in South Africa and the US, but shouldn't the "better" team have the better record? Or am I just lost in translation here?"
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
He pretended to scratch his head.
"Regardless, since the "JV Squad" seems to have more victories over you guys, I think I'm best to stay where I am than to believe that it's better on the side where you're at.
Though, you guys do say you have the girls...
Now this makes me wonder. Maybe yourself is better. Hmm...
But wait, we've never really seen you guys with any girls. Sure, you're always around girls when they're working and they have to come up to you, but seriously. Have you guys gotten any girls lately? I mean I'm not going to brag, but I've got hoes in different arena codes...
And let's not forget, as if you could since you always bring up the past, but I've banged the one girl in EBWF that every man has wanted to, but never have. Velvet Sky. So, my credentials are on the table.
What about yours?"

Black smirked again and gave a little nod.
"Sexcapades, aside.
Tonight Alex, you're going to go out to that ring thinking that you're on top already. Thinking that you've got this in the bag because simply put, you think that you're better than me. In ever sense of the word,
you really, truly, deeply believe that you're better than me. That's been the mistake of every man that came before you. It's going to be your mistake. And it's going to be the same mistake that everyone will continue to make until they finally realize.
I'm the best.
Not Alex Riley. Not AJ Styles. Not Samoa Joe. Not Randy Orton. Not Jimmy Havoc.
Me, myself, and I. That's right. I'm the best in this company. I'm best in this business. Not just today, but ever. And I'm not just blowing smoke up my own ass. The facts all sit right out in front of you. Posted on every sport blogging website around the world.
I, hands down, am THE man that is taking this company further into the future than ever thought possible."

He pointed to the ground intensely as he looked into the camera.
"Since the end of 2015, I have been on a non-stop path of destruction through the ranks of EBWF.
I've overthrown kings. I've de-fanged vipers. I crumbled empires...
I've destroyed destroyers.
I did it all to get here. To get to tonight as the EBWF World Champion. Not because I'm hungry for the glory. Not because I think that this belt will make me cooler at the popular table. But because this title. It's my proof. It's the trophy that shows off all of the accomplishments that I achieved leading up to this point. Leading up tonight."

Black took a deep breath before he continued. Now he spoke in a softer tone.
"Beating you tonight Alex, it's not about keeping this championship so I can keep onto the glory, the fame, the money. No.
Beating you tonight and holding on to his championship, it's to continue to be the best. It's to continue to prove a point and that point is that I am, without a doubt, the best damn wrestler this company has going right now and there's nothing, you can do. There's not that anyone can do to prove me wrong.
As long as I hold the EBWF World Championship, I'm making a statement. I'm proving to everyone that I'm not a flash in the pan. I'm proving that I'm not a transitional champion. I'm proving that I belong here at the top of this mountain that's called EBWF. No matter what you, or anyone else says about that. As long as I hold the EBWF World Championship, no one can dispute who I am or what I can do in that ring."
.darewolf//PJ_BLACK
For a quick jester, Black motioned in the direction of the ring. His arm dropped slowly after as he continued.
"So Alex, go ahead and try to prove me wrong.
Try to take the title from me tonight and see if you can get the job done. My guess is, you can't.
Not because you're not "Varsity" level. You are.
Even so, you're not on my level. You're not on the level that I have destroyed everyone else to get to.
And after tonight Alex, you're going to added to that list. But remember. It's not because you're not good. Everyone that I have faced has been good. Samoa Joe, he's good. Randy Orton, he's great.
But both of them, and yourself Alex, you're not me. You're not PJ Black. You're the best.
And as long as I'm the EBWF World Champion, you, and the rest of the EBWF locker room. You'll never,
be better than me."

Black stood still with a smirk on his face as the video feed ended and the Pay-Per-View returned to ringside.
